Sometimes an Organization or Organizer wants to assign a specific list of contacts to a specific advocate. This can be useful for planning a phone bank or canvass where multiple people may be calling or walking the same area at the same time. It is very similar to how organizers might have “cut turf” in the past using lists and maps and assigned certain streets or contacts to certain canvassers.
If an advocate has an assigned list assigned to them, it will appear both on their Cause+Connect homepage and on their left-hand navigation menu. Clicking these buttons will access any lists assigned to that advocate. A list is either a Walk [link], Call [link], or Email [link] list, and an advocate can be assigned multiple lists of each activity type.
Step 1. Click on the Assigned List button, or the Assigned button in the Left-Hand navigation if using a desktop. Click on xxxx if using a smartphone.
Step 2. Click on the specific List you want to use. The list will have a name, its list type (call, walk, or email), and when it was created.
Clicking on a specific list will access that specific call, walk, or email list, and the contacts that were assigned to that list.
When an Organizer assigns contacts to a list, they are “hidden” from regular advocate walk, call, and email activities. That means while a contact is assigned to a list, they won’t be contacted by another advocate. If the list is deactivated then any contacts on that list who have yet to be contacted will become available again for another advocate to engage via their walk, call, and email activities.
