An advocate is a user who helps their organization or cause generate interactions with contacts. Cause +Connect was designed to help facilitate interactions between advocates and contacts and grow support, raise money and awareness, sell an issue, idea, candidate, and so on. These interactions are either in-person [link], phone calls [link], or personal emails [link]. Advocates, along with contacts, are the essential ingredients for a successful interaction—the person engaging, and the person being engaged.
The contacts that advocates engage have typically been analyzed and targeted already, and have been identified as good prospects to interact with, as they share some characteristics, background, or interests with existing supporters, advocates, volunteers, donors, and so on. In layman terms, most of them should “look like” existing supporters, and interacting with them should produce better outcomes than a typical list.
Advocates are given a daily goal [link] by their organizer. This daily goal influences the number of contacts an advocate can see when they select the walk, call, and email activities. If an advocate’s goal is too small or too large, their organizer can adjust it easily. Even if an advocate meets their goal, they can always continue to interact with additional contacts.
